Penny Sands has recently joined Vertex Ventures Health Care as an Executive Assistant and is looking forward to expanding her experience within the venture capital space.
Penny has more than 20 years of administrative experience. Prior to joining Vertex, she was an Executive Assistant in large established companies such as eBay and Pacific Gas & Electric Company, and also in start-ups and family-owned companies. Penny holds a Bachelor of Science in Counseling Psychology from William Jessup University. It has been a benefit in both the workplace and in many of her volunteering opportunities.
Penny lives in San Jose, California with her husband. They have 3 children, the youngest is a Senior in High School. Soon they will be “empty-nesters” and are looking forward to what comes next. Penny and her husband enjoy listening to live music from unknown bands in dive bars to headliners at local arena’s. She also enjoys crafts and traveling where one of her favorite places is Little Corn Island, Nicaragua.
